The London Eye

The London Eye has become an iconic landmark and a symbol of modern britain. 3.5 million people visit the London Eye a year. The creators of this attraction are David Marks and Julia Barfield. The wheel a metaphore for the end of the 20th century and time turning into the new millennium. The London Eye opened to the public in  March 2000. 


This attraction won many awards in 2007:
- The best attraction in Europe (TripAdvisor.com)
- UK'S Attraction of the year (Coach Tourism Awards)


The London Eye has got 32 capsules, they represent the 32 boroughs of London. The total weight of the wheel and capsules is 2,100 tonnes. The height of the London Eye is 135m (equivalent to 64 red telephone boxes piled on top of each other) making it the fourth tallest structure in London after the BT Tower, Tower 42 and One Canada Square in Canary Wharf. 
The attraction took 7 years to build. From the top of the London Eye you can see far 40 km. The London Eye can carry 800 passengers per revolution. To carry the London Eye passengers you need 11 double decker buses. The closest tube station is Waterloo. You should arrive 30 minutes before your flight. 


London eye prices are very good. a flexi standard flight is perfect if you're planning a trip to London Eye but aren't sure what time you'll visite. the flexi standard flight has these price:


- Adults must be over 16 years and pay $ 18.90. 
- Children between 4 and 15 years pay $ 11.25. 
- Children under 4 are free. 
- Families of 4 people pay $ 53.60
* Family of four consists of two adults (16 plus) and Two children under the age of 16.


The London Eye is closed only Christmas Day and from 8 to 21 January.
